“He is ENTITLED to four MORE years now!” yells an angry Trump supporter in a viral TikTok. The video shows a young woman at a Trump rally asking why supporters are chanting for “eight more years.” It seems to be a popular new idea amongst voters for Trump that the rules of our country’s democracy are to soon change. It’s not a concept that they came to on their own.

“We are going to win four more years. And then after that, we’ll go for another four years because they spied on my campaign…” Trump said at a rally of his supporters in mid-August. “We should get a redo of four years.” This is not the only occasion in which Trump indicates as such, and he has even implied that if he is meant to go, he will not go peacefully. Despite whether or not this was a serious threat to our current standing constitution by the President, it appears this is something many Trump supporters have taken to heart.

“…I would much rather VOTE than FIGHT,” shouts another supporter at a rally captured in this video. “Let’s VOTE and make sure that we don’t have to FIGHT!”

Amidst the chaos of COVID-19 and rapid wildfires that seem determined to scour the Earth is the 2020 election. The election is truly a burden of its own right, comparable to the ferocity of the current plague and hellfire humanity is facing -a practically biblical horror story.

Things are taking a turn for the worst now that President Donald Trump’s polls aren’t looking too good. The President’s response? To the individual playing close attention-it appears to be a call to overthrow our constitution.

This threat is not one that should be taken lightly. Trump has proven that he has the ability to call his supporters to action in the past, inciting violence in public, and even more horrific hate crimes all across the country. If we have anything to learn from these unfortunate occurrences, it’s that Trump has an alarming influence on dangerous people. Has it inspired enough fear in Americans who wish to remain free?

Perhaps the only thing more alarming than Trump’s ability to rouse his supporters is the way he has continuously tried to dismantle the American understanding and belief of the voting system. “The only way we’re going to lose this election is if this election is rigged,” he said to his supporters. Trump has since provoked fear and distrust of the voting system as a clearly calculated move to stir supporters and discourage any doubtful undecided from voting. He’s questioned the legitimacy of mail-in ballots and convinced his supporters that the “radical left-wing mob” will rule if his supporters are not wary.

This is the same man who has reportedly admitted to intentionally discrediting and demeaning the media to prevent Americans from believing any negative stories about him.

If Trump can successfully brainwash Americans into believing that their democracy is a fraud while simultaneously encouraging the uprising of his supporters, he has created the perfect environment for a dictatorship. The best we can do is to know our rights and vote.

As the race continues, tensions will undoubtedly rise. The question is, who should we be more afraid of? Trump, or his violent supporters?

One thing about this upcoming Election Day is becoming increasingly clear: regardless of who wins, our days of living in Trump’s America are not over.
